Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What types of instruments do you calibrate?

We provide NIST-traceable calibration and testing across a wide range of instruments, including but not limited to:

  • Pressure & Force: Pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, manometers, torque wrenches, load cells
  • Dimensional: Analog and digital calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges
  • Temperature: Thermocouples (Type J, K, T, and others), RTDs, infrared thermometers, digital thermometers
  • Electrical: Multimeters, clamp meters, voltage testers, insulation testers, process calibrators
  • Scales & Balances: Laboratory balances, floor scales, portable scales
  • Flow & Volume: Flow meters, pipettes, graduated cylinders
  • Timers & Tachometers: Stopwatches, timers, tachometers

This list is not exhaustive. We support many additional instruments upon request, so please contact us if your equipment is not listed here.

2. Do I need to contact you before placing an order?

Yes. To ensure that our calibration standards match the specific ranges and requirements of your instruments, we ask all customers to email or call us before checkout.
This step helps confirm compatibility and avoids unnecessary shipping, delays, or refunds.

3. How do I place an order?

  1. Email us with details about your instrument(s) and required calibration ranges.
  2. Once we confirm compatibility, you may proceed to checkout through our website.
  3. After checkout, ship your instrument(s) securely to our facility. We’ll provide full shipping instructions.

4. Who is responsible for shipping costs?

Customers are responsible for all inbound and outbound shipping.

  • We strongly recommend insuring instruments for their full replacement value.
  • Return shipping charges are calculated and added at checkout based on package size, weight, and destination.

5. What happens if my instrument cannot be adjusted?

If an instrument cannot be adjusted, it will be returned with “As Found” results documented on the calibration certificate.
Service fees still apply, as they cover the testing and reporting process.

6. How long does calibration take?

Typical turnaround time is 10–15 business days from receipt of your instrument for most basic procedures.

  • Rush services may be available upon request.
  • Turnaround times are estimates and may vary based on service demand or instrument complexity.

7. Do you provide data with calibration?

By default, calibrations are performed as a multi-point verification without detailed data reporting.
If data is required, it may be added at $25 per test point, provided it is requested before service begins.

8. What kind of certificates do you issue?

We issue Calibration Certificates that include:

  • Traceability to NIST standards
  • Measurement results
  • “As Found / As Left” conditions (where applicable)

These certificates meet compliance requirements for audits and quality management systems.

9. How long do you keep records and certificates?

We currently retain calibration records and certificates indefinitely, with a guaranteed minimum of 20+ years.

  • Records are also backed up to secure cloud servers in case of hardware loss due to natural disasters.
  • Once our Customer Portal is live, you will have direct online access to your records and certificates at any time.

10. I’m a regular yearly customer — do I need to prepay?

If you are on a regular yearly schedule for sending in instruments:

  • We may reach out ahead of time to confirm your service window and plan accordingly so your instruments are returned quickly.
  • Regular long-term customers do not need to submit payment before sending instruments.
  • However, we still ask that you contact us first before shipping, so we can schedule properly and avoid delays.

11. Do you accept returns or refunds?

Because calibration is a labor-based service, refunds are only issued in cases of billing error or duplicate payment.
Please review our Refund & Service Policy for full details.
